Dear ATA friends,
This is a briefer than usual Signal message being penned just before our annual meeting. I hope to see all of you in Coronado next week and at our annual business meeting Thursday afternoon.
The final touches are being put in place for the meeting. It will be great! Preregistration numbers are an all-time high and we have sold out blocks in three hotels, including the Del Coronado headquarters hotel. Abstract numbers and exhibitors are also more than 20% greater than high of last 5 years. The program that has been prepared by Mike Tuttle, Fred Wondisford and their committee members will be truly outstanding. Needless to say this week will be crazy for all the ATA staff including our director of meetings Adonia Coates as well as Shirlyn Barger, Sharleene Cano, Kelly Hoff and of course Bobbi Smith – please thank them personally if you can catch up with them during the meeting for their terrific efforts to make this meeting the highlight of ATA's year.
Mobile App -- 'Thyroid14'
 ATA is pleased to be able to offer all attendees access to our 'Thyroid14' event APP to help attendees navigate through the meeting program and activities with ease. New this year - the app will allow attendees to sign-in so that you may message and connect with fellow attendees onsite. The app will be available very soon in the Apple iTunes store and the Google Play store. Once the app is available, we will provide instructions on the ATA website and onsite at the meeting. Wireless access instructions will be provided onsite as well.

The University of Chicago is conducting a multicenter, prospective study on quality of life in thyroid cancer survivors called the North American Thyroid Cancer Survivorship Study. In addition to understanding quality of life issues from the patient's perspective, we are interested in understanding the physician's perspective on how the diagnosis and treatment of thyroid cancer affects quality of life in thyroid cancer patients. The survey is very brief and your participation will be greatly appreciated.
ATA 2014 Abstracts Available Online
We are pleased to provide complimentary access to the abstracts for the 84th Annual Meeting of the American Thyroid Association, October 29 through November 2 at the Hotel Del Coronado, California. The abstracts are available online on the Thyroid website.
Mobile App for Thyroid Calculator on Apple iPhone and iPad
 The American Thyroid Association (ATA) has launched its Thyroid Calculator mobile app currently available from the Apple iTunes App store for use on the iPhone and iPad. The thyroid calculator combines three key thyroid assessment tools that medical, endocrinology, and thyroid professionals can use for rapid calculation of: Calcitonin and Carcinoembryonic Antigen (CEA) Doubling Time; Change in Thyroid Nodule Volume; and Thyroid Cancer Staging.
