ATA to upgrade website to Content Management System (CMS)
The American Thyroid Association (ATA) is in the process of migrating the website www.thyroid.org and structures to a WordPress Content Management System (CMS). A CMS is used to control a dynamic collection of Web material, including HTML documents, images, and other forms of media facilitating document control, auditing, editing, and timeline management.
After an extensive request for proposals (RFP) process, we found WordPress to be the most flexible, economical and reliable CMS. WordPress is an open-source system, currently in wide use by web developers in a variety of industries. The ATA is working through the complex process of migration in collaboration with Great Circle Studios/WebWorld Technologies.

Spring is a busy season for ATA. This early spring has been especially active for our society in that we are in the process of updating ATA's strategic plan. Our most recent plan update was 2009 (which you can view on the ATA website) and with the recent change in the Secretary and other officers, the time seemed ripe to look more carefully at our plan and initiate an update where old items had been completed and new opportunities have appeared. more ...
