Selling your Science: Presenting to an Audience outside your Field

Consider volunteering in this interactive session during the 2017 E. Chester Ridgway Trainee Conference taking place in Victoria, BC, Canada on Thursday, October 19th from 12:00 – 1:00PM.

In this session, In this session, three volunteer trainees will create and present a 5-minute talk, consisting of no more than 3 slides. The talk should focus on the big-picture importance of your work and clearly communicate the works significance – something a kin to an “elevator speech”. Following each presentation, there will be 5-10 minutes for feedback and discussion led by the session moderators.

We encourage everyone to attend and will be inviting three trainees to speak by August 15th. If you would like to participate in this session, please submit a brief statement of interest and short description of your proposed presentation for this session by completing the form below by July 31st.
