Another Generic T3 Released

Falls Church, Va. (August 5, 2009) - Mylan Pharmaceuticals of West Virginia recently received FDA approval for generic T3 (Liothyronine Sodium Tablets USP, 5 mcg, 25 mcg and 50 mcg) as another alternative for Cytomel. There is already an additional generic T3 preparation approved this year from Coastal Pharmaceuticals.

This latest addition comes at a time when Mylan is also being subjected to an FDA review of its manufacturing practices. However, there is no evidence of problems with the production of Mylan T4 or T3.
